New Knitter
Have fun learning the basics of knitting by starting
with a face or dish cloth, then move on to following
a pattern to make a ribbed scarf. In this techniques
based class, you will learn to knit in the Continental
style, including how to cast on and off, knit, purl,
how to understand the yarn ball band, read and follow
a pattern, when to unknit and when to rip it out, and
how to fix mistakes.Follow up class is The Intermediate Knitter class.
Materials: (please ask for help choosing your yarn)
- Project #1 Face/Dish Cloth - 1-50 gr ball cotton or bamboo yarn
or heavier weight yarn
- Project #2 Scarf - 1-100 gr yarn such as Malabrigo (singles)
- Needles: straight or circular needles (circular are recommended) 4.5 mm
- Patterns and handouts provided by instructor.
- 3 - 2.0 hour sessions $60.00 (materials are extra)
